Lesson One - Desire

Believe with all of your heart that you will do what you were made
to do. When the mind has once formed the habit of holding cheerful,
happy, prosperous pictures, it will not be easy to form the
opposite habit.

It does not matter how improbable or how far away this realization
may seem, or how dark the prospects may be, if we visualize them as
best we can, as vividly as possible, hold tenaciously to them and
vigorously struggle to attain them, they will gradually become
actualized, realized in the life. But a desire, a longing without
endeavor, a yearning abandoned or held indifferently will vanish
without realization.

It is only when desire is crystallized into resolve, however, that
it is effective.

Think and say only that which you wish to become true.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the outline of the
image itself; the real substance, not merely a mental image. What
we believe is coming to us is a tremendous creative motive. Your
whole thought current must be set in the direction of your life
purpose.

Whatever comes to us in life, we create first in our mentality.

Here are top ten shifts in perspective that can help you move your
life to the next level. This will assist you in breaking through
your own glass ceiling to create the life you really want.

1. Give yourself permission to dream. You probably had no problem
dreaming as a kid. What happened to your ability to imagine and
dream about what you want and who you want to be? When was the last
time you caught yourself daydreaming and appreciated it?

2. Stop looking outside yourself for happiness. Look inside.
Increase your self-awareness. Get curious about who you are at the
core. Cultivate and nurture a relationship with yourself.

3. Cover the basics. Take the time to address your personal needs.
How can you focus on thriving in your life if you are in survival
mode? Set up that meeting with a financial advisor, get your space
organized, clean up the details that are wasting your energy.

4. Embrace your past and move on. Shift from "why it happened" to
what I want to do about it now. Asking "why" is not a very
empowering question. Asking what or how I want to proceed can be
much more powerful and produce forward movement.

5. Remember that you are not alone. It is easy to feel overwhelmed
with life. Seek support. Read more self improvement articles. They
might help you figure out some things that are puzzling you.

6. Remember gratitude. Count your blessings. What is working right
in your life? Make a list. Set aside a bit of time everyday to
acknowledge what or who you are grateful for. The more you practice
gratitude, the more you attract into your life things to be
grateful for.

7. Court your passion. You still have your passions though it has
been a while since you may have felt it flow. When are you the most
alive and joyful in your life? Who do you most admire and what do
they inspire in you?

8. Take action and take a risk. All the inspiration in the world is
not enough to make you move your life to the next level. It takes
inspired action to do that.

9. Keep breathing. You probably forget to take deep full breaths.
We have all learned to constrict our breathing in response to
stress. According to many self improvement articles, we not only
need oxygen to stay alive, we need oxygen to give us energy and
keep us healthy. Right now take 5 deep, full breaths.

10. Have fun. Call a friend, take a bubble bath, take yourself to
an art museum or schedule a whole day out in nature. Put on some
great music and dance till you drop.

Financial Education

Take a moment, if you would, to remember high school. While some
remember that time period fondly, others are still saddled with
therapy bills from time spent trying to cope with their high school
experiences. For those who went to college, take a moment and
reflect on that time period. How do you remember it? Those who have
succeeded in life without a college education may take this moment
to mock all of us college graduates. Feels good to be on the right
side of the quadrant, doesn't it?

Our memory often reflects upon the past as a series of time
periods. High school, college, and the honeymoon years are just a
few examples of time periods in which we look back, judge how we
felt, and categorize the entire time period with a generalized
statement. Typically these experiences are personalized;
occasionally there are larger events that create the same effect on
a larger scale. World War II and the Great Depression are examples
of this.

While the longevity of the current economic crisis will determine
whether or not this time period will serve as a collective recall
point, there can be no doubt that for some individuals, its impact
already has created events of such magnitude that they will never
forget the event. With mass unemployment, scandals, and dwindling
retirement accounts, the effect has been severe for many. Yet some
will look on this time period, no matter how severe the current
economic crisis becomes, with something akin to fondness, as they
achieved high levels of prosperity through the opportunities
afforded them by the crisis. As Robert Kiyosaki said, far more
eloquently, "The difference between those that find these to be the
best of times and those that find these to be the worst of times is
simply knowledge and financial IQ."

So what are you doing to increase your knowledge? Have you outlined

Sometimes the answer to a personal problem is in the right question.

If we only ask why did this happen to me we will spin around in the egoic realm of self deception. The question has to be some version of what do I need to develop in myself to grow through this or rise above it?

This may seem like a strange analogy: In the news this week was a story of a dog, an Australian border collie who was swept overboard while sailing with his owners off the coast of Queensland. It was a stormy day and he could not be found. He swam five miles in shark infested waters and reached a small island. He lived alone for four months by hunting feral goat and drinking rain water. This is a dog who had been raised in suburban luxury and ease. Rangers found him this week and he was returned to his owners, nearly flattening them with joy and excitement at the reunion.

Point: Although he was a pampered pet, in life threatening circumstances he found the true dog within and took care of himself. He followed his instincts and found land, food, water and safety. When he was rescued he was as joyful as any of us might be and went right back to living in the house with the swimming pool and endless doggie treats.

There is an inexhaustible reservoir of wisdom and love and intelligence and creativity in us. Many of our troubles could be turned into adventures in self discovery if we ask the right questions and listen to our inner guidance.

The first question to ask yourself is, Do I feel that I deserve to earn a lot of money? I can honestly tell you that the people I know who make a lot of money absolutely, unequivocally, without a doubt feel that they deserve it.

If you don't believe you deserve to earn money, you must raise what I call your deserving level and lower your excuses level. By "excuses level," I mean all your excuses about why you can't earn money or haven't earned money. It's time to stop telling yourself that you aren't smart enough or good enough or that you don't know enough and you start putting a value on yourself. If you don't value yourself, money will never, ever be attracted to you. You will repel it as fast as you can imagine it, and others will not value you, either.

Because you are worth it, you must take care yourself physically, emotionally, intellectually & spiritually. This means nurturing what you already have and growing in each of these areas. Some people are more willing to pay to maintain their cars or their homes than themselves. But it is when you are the best you can be and operate at your full potential that prosperity will find you.

So do something for yourself, take a course, eat healthy foods, meditate.

The Angels on the Economy by Doreen Virtue

Economic conditions are more affected by human beliefs and expectations, than by oil prices or political concerns. This istrue for you personally, as well as for everyone globally. Your personal finances are greatly influenced by your expectations and emotions, so it's doubly important to keep your thoughts and feelings at as high a level as possible.

The angels advise:
Avoid any thoughts or discussions about blaming politicians, countries, or anyone else for your personal or the global economy. Placing blame upon others puts you in a victim role, energetically. This lowers your energies, and has you attract more experiences of victimization.

If you are around someone (including a media report) who is making negative statements about money or the economy, silently (or aloud if the person is open-minded) say: "Cancel, Clear, Delete" or "In spiritual truth, we are all perfectly and abundantly supported. I now open my arms to receive and share plentifully."

Engage in activities that make you happy! Please don't scrimp on hobbies or trips, but instead look at them as investments in your happiness, which is the most important influence in your personal economic conditions. When you are happy, you automatically attract and create new opportunities. Your happiness also lifts up the energies of those around you.

Affirm frequently: "God is omnipresent love, wisdom, and creativity. I am forever one with God's grace and love. I amcompletely supported in all ways by the love of God. I follow my Divine guidance along pathways of giving of selfless service, and receiving the support that God offers to everyone."

Keep your thoughts about other people's finances at a very high level. Frequently affirm that we are all richly abundant in allways. Avoid any pity thoughts about anyone, but do give donations and support as you are guided.

Don't worry about HOW your finances will be supported or resolved. Remember that God's creativity, wisdom, and love is boundless. Your prayers will be answered in surprising, miraculous, and unexpected ways.

Whenever you get a strong intuitive lead to do something positive, follow it without delay! Remember that God frequently answers your prayers by giving you strong and repetitive messages to take action. These messages may come to you as an emotional or physical feeling; an idea or inspiration; a vision or dream; or words that you hear. As you follow this guidance, you co-create the answer to your prayers.

The angels say that we are already collectively seeing economic improvements which will continue into October and November. You can see and experience these improvements for yourself with faith, hope, and trust. Pray for more faith, and it is always given - I especially recommend praying for increased faith, hope, and trust as you're falling asleep - you'll be amazed at how much better you feel when you wake up in the morning.

Step 3 - Start searching for your next step and be open to unexpected ideas. Then take action. Whether you need to find a new job in a hurry, money to pay this month's rent, an idea to help take your business to the next level, or a way to turn a mistake into an opportunity, resourcefulness is your ticket to a successful outcome. Just stay open-minded and be sure to keep your feet moving.

When you develop your resourcefulness muscles, you'll stop being afraid of failure. And you'll start influencing the lives of others in a powerful way.

Be in Joy now and everything will change

In the moment that I discovered The Secret I realized that I had been living my entire life backwards. If things were good in my life, I was happy. If things were difficult in my life and everything was going wrong, I was stressed and miserable. In my ignorance, I had been misusing the law of attraction all of my life. But all of that changed when I had the knowledge of The Secret.

To live in accordance with The Secret and the most powerful law in the Universe, we must be in Joy first - and then everything will change. To live our lives by emotionally reacting to what is happening outside of us is misusing the law! As we react with negative emotion to any difficulties, we attract more negativity into our lives. We cannot defy the law of attraction, which operates on the most microscopic levels of vibration, and with absolute exactitude.

You must be in Joy first. And then your life will change into Joy.

Difficult times are the greatest opportunities in disguise. When we face difficult times we have to put in determined work to get ourselves into Joy. But let me tell you, when you can get yourself into Joy despite what is happening around you, your life must change - it's the law!
In addition, as you become Joy in difficult times you are becoming the master of your emotions, the master of your life, and the master of the law of attraction. Difficult times are your greatest opportunity to practice yourself into Joy.

Of course if your life is going along swimmingly then it is very easy to be in Joy. During those times your Joy is most likely a reaction to the good times. But the magnificence and the power that you really have within you will be seen when you can be in Joy during difficult times. It is then that you will see the true power that you have within you, because as you hold to Joy, you will shift all the energies of the Universe, and your life and your world will change.

The cause of everything is within you, and the effect is what you experience in your life. You have the power within you to change everything by putting yourself in Joy. You can change everything so easily by becoming Joy first! And nothing can change until you get yourself in Joy, because that is the law of attraction. Like attracts like! The energy of Joy attracts energy of Joy!
Do whatever it takes to find your Joy, and then keep yourself in it no matter what. Keep ramping up your level of Joy every day. There is no limit to the levels of Joy you can reach. You will see change to the degree of Joy that you can attain and maintain. The higher the Joy you can create within you, the more spectacular the change, and the higher the Joy, the faster the change. Once you get yourself in Joy it is easy to maintain it, because your emanation of Joy attracts more Joy. The law of attraction will continually send you more feelings of Joy.

You cannot criticize or blame or complain when you are in Joy. You cannot be afraid when you are in Joy. You cannot speak negatively when you are in Joy. You cannot harm another when you are in Joy. Negativity cannot reach you when you are in Joy.

When you are in Joy you are compassionate. When you are in Joy you are considerate and caring. When you are in Joy you love others. When you are in Joy you appreciate everything.

When you are in Joy you are in love with the world, and the Universe is in love with you.
Be in Joy. Seek it with all of your heart, and you will find it.
