Write Is Right Or When Right To Write
By: Craig Fenton

As a long writer, author, and public-speaker the question comes up often about how regimented writing should be. Should you allocate a certain amount of hours per day and let the clock dictate when you will be sitting at the computer?

The short answer is there isn't one course that benefits everyone the same. I am not talking about being on a deadline. This is strictly for those that have ample time to construct and create an article, blog post, review, press release, or book.

I have used different techniques to see what would be the best way to enhance the creative juices. There were days I made sure I would be at the computer a set time and devote a given period of the day or night to see what the results would be. What I found over the years is there are days that the words have a more natural flow and see to be writing without it ever being an effort. There can be a part of the week that the attitude is positive but the product isn't.

Don't be fooled into believing that what works for one writer will be the key to your success. If a best selling author has the most paramount results with a 5 hour work day 6 days a week it is also possible that one of their colleagues may find that anything more than an hour a day is a hinders their goals and doesn't expedite the path to the finish line.

Let things take a natural path. When you decide to write a book don't let the clock be your enemy. Always have a pen and paper handy in case a great thought comes to mind when you are not at the computer. If you decide that Monday you feel the same energy level in hour six as you did at the start, by all means continue. Tuesday may come and you decide that after thirty minutes you don't find the sentence structure as optimum as when you first began. That is alright as well.

If you make sure that when you deice to write the next great book or blog post, give yourself enough time to have the project come to fruition. If the pressure is off the end result will be more stellar and you won't think of the time spent as a job. Work should not be entering your mind as you hit the specific letters on the keyboard. If you take the turtle approach or the jack rabbit, be accurate, free of stress, and creative. When you hear the accolades it all becomes worth your while.
