How To Get ENJOYMENT And FULFILMENT From Your eBay Business

You don't want your eBay business to be just another boring job that you are tied to, do you? So the best advice is to sell what YOU like - by which I mean sell something that you are INTERESTED in, ideally PASSIONATE about.

If you have a hobby or interest, other people are likely to share your hobby or interest. These people who share your hobby or interest form a niche market - a group of people who share clearly defined needs and wants connected to that interest or hobby. You can then supply products or services that meet the needs and wants of that niche market.

By supplying products and services to a niche market who share your interest and hobbies, you will enjoy your business more and so will be more motivated and more likely to succeed. You may not be able to get paid for doing your hobby - but selling something connected to your hobby is the next best thing. You will be making money and having fun at the same time. Your "work" then becomes an extension of your hobby and won't seem like work. So learning more to become an expert in your niche will be a pleasure rather than a chore. If you're not having fun, and are just running your business for the money, selling on eBay may just become another boring job that you hate.

Not only will you be more motivated if you sell something that you are interested in, but your enjoyment of your product is likely to increase your success. Your own enthusiasm for the product will be infectious and you will be able to write better sales copy than sellers who are disinterested. You will have insider knowledge making you an expert. You will know the best suppliers and how best to sell to your target market because they have the same interests as you. You will know what other product lines will best complement your initial product, enabling you to diversify which increases profits and reduces risk.

The internet, including eBay, is ideal for providing goods and services to a niche market. For example, if you opened a conventional specialist niche shop in your home town, there might not be enough demand for your products in your local community and you might struggle to make a living because of lack of sales (as well as the high overheads associated with running a shop). But if you sell the same products online, you can sell to everyone in that niche regardless of where they live in the world. So you are likely to have much higher sales as well as much lower overheads!

Finding a niche market is better than trying to supply the mass market. If you try to please everyone, you'll end up pleasing no one. But you can zero in on a small niche market, specialize and provide them with exactly what they want and end up dominating that niche.

And if it's a niche that you are interested in, you will enjoy your work and so are more likely to succeed.
